Marketing Communications
This policy explains the difference between transactional service messages and optional promotional communications.
1. Transactional Messages
We send transactional messages needed to operate Lainey, including sign-in codes, receipts, eSIM delivery, subscription confirmations, cancellation notices, failed payment notices, support replies, security alerts, and service updates. These are not marketing messages.
2. Promotional Messages
Promotional messages may include offers, destination deals, referral campaigns, product updates, research invitations, or partner promotions. We send these where we have consent or another lawful basis.
3. Consent
Marketing consent is separate from account creation and purchase fulfillment. Buying an eSIM or receiving a purchase-created account does not by itself opt you into promotional email.
4. EU/UK Users
For EU/UK users, promotional electronic marketing is handled under applicable data protection and ePrivacy/PECR rules. We may rely on consent or another legally available basis, such as a limited soft opt-in where available and properly offered.
5. Opt Out
You can opt out of promotional emails using an unsubscribe link or by contacting support@lainey.app. You may still receive transactional or legally required messages.
6. Referrals
Referral links and messages should be sent only to people you know and only where lawful. Do not spam, mislead recipients, or use referral programs for abuse or fraud.
